She was born into the family of František Bohdal, a joiner, and his wife Marie, née Brunner. Her mother worked as a maid and devoted herself to amateur theatre.

Before Fame

She began acting in theatre and film at an early age. She was accepted to The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague at her third attempt.

Trivia

From 1967 to the present day she has a permanent engagement at the “Vinohrady Theatre”.

Family Life

Her father was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1954.
